Laneisha

Layah and I have been talking through text since early December, and yet we were only able to actually meet just a week before the baptism of her daughter, Laneisha. (Just a note: Layah's hubby is Laser. That makes them a family with pretty cool names.:)) And we realized we not only went to the same college in the same university, we also went to the same high school! Layah was a batch higher than me while Laser was a batchmate in college (He and Pete recognized each other by face...probably from ROTC.)

Anyway, this was another well-planned baptism. We even had a short preps pictorial at the Manila Penn. Yup, Eisha had her dress-up at a hotel!:D And I really loved the color theme that they chose. Instead of the usual pink, they went with pink and brown, with Layah and Laser wearing color-coordinated outfits for the baptism and the reception. It was really cute.:)

The baptism was held last January 21, at the Santuario de San Jose. Reception was at the Oasis Lounge. Below are some of the photos that I took:

I love Eisha's expression here.:D

This was Eisha towards the end of the night.

And again, I have to acknowledge Pete for the following photos (and some other photos in the gallery). What can I say, I taught him well. Hehehe. Just kidding.:D

Derek Joshua

I know, I know. I've been a terrible blogger lately. I haven't had the time to update this blog because I've been so busy with shoots, post-processing photos and doing albums. Anyway, I promise to make time to post more regularly from now on.:D

****

Joshua's baptism was my last one for the month of December. Joshua and his parents, Joyce and Jason, are based in Singapore. Joyce and I had to communicate through email before we could finally meet just a few days before the event.

The baptism was held on December 23, 2006 (almost a month ago.:D) at the San Roque Cathedral in Caloocan.

Below are some of the photos.

Ninongs and Ninangs all in a row...

Derek Joshua. Asleep.

I wish I could take credit for the following photos. But these were actually taken by my unofficial second photographer/assistant/manager/art director...Pete. Hehehe.:D

Nap and Hershey

Date: December 18, 2006
Preps: Edsa Shangrila Hotel
Ceremony and Reception: Oasis

Nap is the brother-in-law of Arlene who was the very first one to ever book me for a baptism (for her daughter Rea). So far, it's been wonderful working for this family.:)

FUN. That's how I would describe Nap and Hershey together. Even during our first meeting, we couldn't stop laughing. They're both very easy to talk to and always fun to be with. Theirs was the very first civil wedding I have ever photographed. Come to think of it, it was the very first civil wedding I have ever been to.:D But it wasn't just like any other civil wedding. It had all the elements of a well-planned intimate church wedding except that there was no priest and it wasn't held in a church. Yeah, it was bongga. But with Arlene helping them with the preps, who would have expected anything less?

Here are some of the photos from the wedding:

The rings.

Ok, I have to admit, I loved Hershey's shoes so much that I think I spent more time photographing it than any of the other wedding paraphernalia. Maybe even more than I spent on Hershey!:D
The beautiful bride.:)

Like I said, we had fun.:D

One of the few serious shots of the couple.

The lovely cake had HERSHEY'S Hugs and Kisses. Get it? Hehehe.:)

Romantic moment...I think.:D

UPDATE: Jethro and Mina!

December was such a hectic month for me. I got so busy that I kept forgetting to put up Jethro and Mina's gallery. Mina found my blog entry on them last week and called me up to thank me for it. And that was when I remembered I still owed them their gallery! I was finally able to put it up last night. Whew.

Mina is so sweet and gracious that I'm really glad I had the chance to work with her. I texted her the link to the gallery at 1AM this morning and she texted me earlier to thank me and even called me up. Working with clients like her is one of the best things about my job.:)

Faces

I just want to share some photos I took of my 5-month old nephew Liam (he turned 5 today:)) when he was here for the holidays. Now he's back in Davao and everybody here misses him so much...

The great thing about taking portraits of babies is that they can give you totally different expressions in a matter of seconds. These were mostly consecutive shots and I was going at about one click per second!

Isn't he the cutest? Mana sa Aunt Ging.:D

Michael Earl

Eileen was one of the n@wies who asked about my baptismal packages in November. We were finally able to meet up about a week before the baptism of her baby. Pete and I photographed Baby Kyle's baptism last December 17 at the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Makati. We were also finally able to meet Matthew, Eileen's hubby who is currently based in Sydney. We were told he used to teach Physics in UP! Eek!:D But seriously, they were both very nice and it was great working for them.:)

Eileen was very particular about the shots of the invites, souvenirs, etc., which I didn't mind at all because I love taking photos of the little details.:)

Below are some of the photos from the baptism.

The little giveaways.
This baptismal gown is almost four decades old! It was first worn by Eileen's eldest brother. Still very pretty and immaculately white!
Eileen and her siblings.

A family portrait.

Michael Earl a.k.a. Kyle. Just two months old and yet you can already tell he'll be a heartthrob someday.:)
