Moving...

When you go to my old website, this is what you'll see.

Photobucket

Yes, I am in the process of building an all-new website and blog right now (with the help of my super talented brother.;) ). I wasn't too happy with my old hosting company anymore, so we decided to move. And since they were giving us a hard time about taking my domain name, we decided to just cut loose and start fresh. If things go well, we are hoping to launch the new site by middle of next month (fingers crossed!). It will be a great way to start the New Year, so I'm super excited!

Meanwhile, my new email ging@ ging-lorenzo.com is now working. (Please don't forget the HYPHEN!) Please direct all inquiries through there.

And yes, I do realize I've been neglecting this blog again. This month has just been crazy. (We haven't even started out Christmas shopping yet!)  I will do my best to post more in the next few weeks (that is, if the world doesn't end this Friday!:D).

Ok, that's it for now!:)

Mimi: 1st birthday party

February 19, 2012
PGPV Clubhouse

I love it when past clients ask me to shoot for them again. Especially when they're as nice as Mommy Nina and Daddy Jojo.:) I first worked with this family around 4 years ago when I photographed Anton's 1st birthday party. Nina contacted me again when it was their 2nd baby Margaux's turn to have a party. Unfortunately, I wasn't available to shoot for them at that time. When she contacted me again and asked me if I would be able to photograph their 3rd baby Mimi's party, I was so happy to say yes!:)

Just as we did for Anton's party, we started shooting the details and some portraits at their home. Everything looked and felt familiar, it felt like visiting old friends. Except there were now 3 cute kiddies in the house! It was a riot! But the fun kind.;)

Here are a few of the photos we took at the house.

It was also Daddy Jojo's birthday! Here's Mimi in front of the chalk board with birthday greetings for her and her dad.:)

We finally got all three kids to sit still long enough to take a family photo before we left for the party venue.;)

I was so tempted to try these margaritas! (Nina kept telling me to try them. Hehehe.)

Before most of the guests arrived, I asked the whole family for a few more shots outside. See how fun these guys are?
Photobucket

Yep, I like taking pictures at parking lots. They always have great light.:)
Photobucket

The two older kids couldn't wait to go back to the party so we let them go and took a few more shots of the birthday girl.
Photobucket

And some shots with mom and dad as well.:)

Enzo: 7th birthday party

February 18, 2012
T.G.I.Friday's Bonifacio High Street
Active Fun

There are only a few more weeks left in the year and as I was going through the parties that I had the honor of being a part of this year, I realized I shot a lot of very unique and interesting ones. And Enzo's 7th birthday party was one of them. I'll probably be using the word "cool" more times than appropriate in this entry, but I just can't think of any other word to describe Enzo's party.  I'm not a Star Wars fan myself, but I still found all the details that Mommy Cathy prepared really, well, cool!;)

Photobucket

No alcohol was served, of course, but I thought the bar of the restaurant served as a nice backdrop for the party. Looks cool, doesn't it?:)
Photobucket

Cool details!

A closer look at some of the details on the humongous cake!
Photobucket

All the boys got their very own lightsabers! How very cool is that?!
Photobucket

And check out this awesome piƱata!
Photobucket

I asked the family for a few shots outside before the guests arrived. I knew we wouldn't be able to pull Enzo away from his friends once the party started.

He wasn't really in the mood for pictures, but we got him to pose for me for a few shots.

Photobucket

Oh, and every boy in the party also got his own Jedi robe!
Photobucket

The thing with 7-year-old boys is that when they get their hands on light sabers, they just have to use them. It was pure chaos! But so much fun!
Photobucket

We also had to take a picture with the little princesses in the party, of course.:)
Photobucket

And then, it was back to the boys. Here's the birthday boy channeling his inner Jedi.

They invited some cosplayers to the party! Love the costumes!

Candle-blowing time...

But the T.G.I. Friday's staff had to do their number first.
Photobucket

Then the party was brought to Active Fun where all the kids had free passes to the play area for a couple of hours. The cosplayers came along for a few more photos.
Photobucket

I asked the family for a few more shots inside the play area. It wasn't easy. I had to keep myself from being tackled by all the kids that were running around!
Photobucket

Oh, I just have to say that Cathy is such a cool mom. I don't think I would have been calm and poised as she was if I was in her shoes. At the end of the party, she still looked so fresh and beautiful.:)

Zoie: 1st birthday party

February 5, 2012
Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse
Party theme: "It's a Small World!"

I saw Zoie again at a party I photographed the other weekend, and it was so nice to see how much she's grown since I shot her 1st birthday party in February!  She's as cute as ever. And when she won best in costume, I couldn't help but feel proud.:D And then I remembered I haven't blogged about her birthday party yet.:D So here it is...

I was quite excited to shoot Zoie's party because I knew it was going to be awesome. I first met Zoie when we did her portrait session late last year. And judging from the great effort that Mommy Erica made to make our 1-hour session extraordinary, I was really looking forward to what was in store for me and my camera during Zoie's party! I was not disappointed at all.:)

Photobucket

Mommy Erica makes sure that Zoie always has the best outfits. Check out these beautiful dresses that The birthday girl got to wear on her special day!:)

It's no secret that I LOVE working with Kathleen dela Merced of Spark + Twinkle. Her work never fails to amaze me, and Zoie's party was no exception.:)

One of my favorite things to do is to take outdoor portraits. And this lovely family made it even more fun for me.:)

I love Zoie's smile!:)
