Reich: 1st birthday party

October 25, 2008
Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse

A few of my clients from the last quarter of 2008 have been asking me when I would be posting their events. Since I have posted my last kiddie event for January, please allow me to back-track for a bit.

I was booked for Reich's birthday party by Apple of Yanple. I was a bit nervous about meeting the client for the first time during the event itself, but Dorothy turned out to be very nice. It was also great getting to work with some of the suppliers that I have had the chance to work with several times before, like John Aguas' video team, and Kuya Alex, the host/magician.

Here are some of the shots from that day.

We started the shoot at the family home.

This little guy probably owns more footwear than I do.:D

Another shot of Reich getting comfortable in front of the cameras.

The party had an "under-the-sea" theme. Here are some shots of the colorful venue decorations.

Yep, they had fishbowls with live fish as centerpieces.:D

Kuya Alex during the games.

We were able to take a few shots of the family after the party.

And HERE are more photos from Reich's party!:)

Anton: 1st birthday party

January 17, 2009
Blue Whale Grill

I was cruising by Libis last Sunday on my way to a kiddie party that I was going to photograph, when I thought I saw a familiar face. I just texted Niña about it, and she said it was, in fact Anton's photo that I saw on the tarp of Tumble Tots, the pre-school where Niña teaches. I knew it was him. I immediately recognized Anton's BIG smile. This little guy loves to smile for the camera, so it was a breeze photographing him. He was also very friendly. When I was at their home before the party to shoot the details as well as some portraits, he kept coming up to me. It was very tempting to just put my camera down and play with him (which I actually did a couple of times.:D)

I also loved working with Anton's parents, especially Mommy Niña. When we first met, one of the first things she did was to ask me how I pronounce my name (For the record, it's GING as in jogGING, not JING.), and I knew right then that we were going to get along great.

Below are some photos from the day.

Can you guess what the theme of the party was?;)

There it is, the BIG smile.:D

Here's Anton with BIG brother Benjie. A quick kwento about Benjie: He's such a smart and gentle pet. In fact, I don't think he realizes he's a dog. When I asked the family to sit on the couch for some quick family photos, Benjie positioned himself on the floor and looked at the camera. Niña says she and hubby Jojo considers Benjie as their first born. I think he makes a great Kuya to Anton.:)

The cute Sesame Street cake.

Colorful venue set-up by Yanple.

I love this photo.:)

We still had a few minutes after the party to take photos before it became too dark. I really love these next two.

This was the last shot I took before heading home, and it was one of the my favorite shots of Anton.:)

HERE are more photos from Anton's birthday party!

Selene: 1st birthday party

This has been on my blog drafts for a while, so I thought I'd post it today. And I will be posting more in the coming days.:)

January 12, 2009
OSMA Roofdeck

I was booked for Selene's party by the lovely Imma of Kidstar Kastles. However, a few days before the event, Selene's mom, January emailed me to let me know how excited they were to be working with me on Selene's birthday. I'm usually a bit nervous when I don't get to correspond with the client at least by email or text before the event(which is what usually happens when events are booked through party coordinators), but after getting January's email, I knew it was going to be easy working with them. And I was right.:)

Decorations were done by Kidstar Kastles, of course, and the place was bursting with colors!

Here is Selene's lovely dress.

I was able to take a few casual family portraits before the party started.

The kids enjoying the games.

The adults enjoying the games.:D

Selene enjoying the party.

I just thought this photo of Flooch was too cool. Look at how "Wendy" (lower right) reacts!:D

Mommy ang Daddy enjoying the party.

Selene loved her colorful cake.:)

Selene just after the party.

Just dropping by to say Hi...

I woke up this morning to find a text message from a "regular visitor" on this blog (HI MARION!!!:D) reminding me that I haven't posted anything in two weeks. My initial reaction was to smile because it felt nice to know that there are actually people who read this blog often enough to miss my postings. And then I suddenly went into panic when I realized that, Holy Cow! Has it really been two weeks???

I don't like making excuses, but I really truly have been terribly busy the past few weeks. I usually spend Sunday nights or Monday mornings trying to figure out how on earth I will be able to finish everything on my to-do list in the next 5 days. If life is a marathon, I feel as if mine has been in a constant state of SPRINT lately. It's been a mad dash for the finish line after another. And you have no idea how ironic that analogy sounds considering I literally have bad feet that walking alone can sometimes be a chore for me.

So, yeah, there is my excuse. Regular programming will resume when I get the chance to catch my breath.:D

And as always, to keep this entry just a little less boring, here is a sneak preview of a wedding I photographed about a week ago.:)
