Jap: Maternity portraits

I know I said Monday is supposed to be my day off, but I have a lot of stuff to work on this week so I'm on "overtime" today. Besides, I couldn't really do much being hooked up with a Holter Monitor (I'm fine. I think my doctor is making me do this test just to prove to me that I have absolutely nothing to worry about.) I don't really mind working today either, because I finally get to post Jap's preggy session! I did this fun pictorial with Jap and hubby Loel the first weekend of this year. I had to wait for their approval to post these photos though because some of them show a bit of skin. And those shots were some of my absolute favorites from the session, so it would have been a shame if I didn't include them here!

The whole session was done inside the couple's suite at the Diamond Hotel. Jap was only about seven months along then, but Loel is based abroad and it was the only time that they could do the photoshoot together. In fact, he was scheduled to fly back to work later that day! These guys were really great to work with so it wasn't hard getting good shots.

Here are some of my favorite shots from that day.

Jap prepared several outifts and I loved them all. This red dress was her first one.

Second outfit. I love this next photo because it looks like it belongs in a telenovela ad.;)

A nice formal shot. This was the photo that the couple chose for their frame.

I like this one because it's a happy photo. I love happy photos.:D (Oh, yeah. This was Jap's third outfit.;))

Outfit #4: Lovely purple dress! Doesn't Jap look stunning?

Nice fun series.

Last outfit!:)

Jap told me Loel is usually shy in front of the camera. However, he was very relaxed during our shoot and he even VOLUNTEERED to take his shirt off and show off his tattoo for some dramatic portraits! Jap is a natural in front of the camera, but I have to say Loel did a very good job as well! I love these next two!

A series of what you might call "typical" maternity shots. I think Jap still looks extraordinary though.:)

This was one of the last shots. Love the sexy red nails!:)

Thanks, Jap and Loel! Can't wait to meet the little one.;)

Zaz: Baptism

January 4, 2009
National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Makati Skyline

One of my goals for this year is to always keep this blog updated and to post events on time. I don't think I'm doing a good job at it so far because this event took place exactly a month ago. I'll probably try to finish posting all of my January events in the next few days.:D

Zaz's baptism was my second gig for the new year. Yes, that's her full first name. ZAZ. Short, simple, cute, and unique. And her name wasn't the only thing that was out of the ordinary for this baptism. Here are a few details that made this a unique event.

1. Zaz was baptized in the same church where her mom and dad were married exactly six years before. (Note: Her mom and dad were married on January 4, 2003. That's 143.:D)
2. She was baptized by the same priest who officiated her parents' wedding as well.
3. As a symbol of her innocence and simplicity as a baby coming into this world, the priest asked that Zaz be clothed in nothing but a diaper (you know, in case of "accidents") during the ceremony. She wore the nice baptismal gown only after the baptismal rites.
4. The baptism was scheduled at 3pm; the reception at 6:30ish. So, instead of the normal flow where we take photos of the details and do family portraits before the ceremony. We started with the ceremony first, then we went to the hotel to shoot family portraits before the sun went down (Love the sunset at Sofitel!), and then we went up to their room to take photos of the details, before heading for the reception.

Here are some of my favorite images from the event.

Oh yeah, the family is based in Australia, so they were just home for a few weeks for the holidays. Here are some of Zaz's bling.

I would like to thank my friend/client Grette (Renzo's mom)for booking me for this event. (Zaz is her husband's niece.)

Finally, HERE are some more photos from the event.:) Check them out!

Dennis and Marion: Engagement photo session

Before heading for the crowded cemeteries November 1 of last year, I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session with a very nice couple. Marion texted me a few weeks before, asking about my engagement pictorial package. We texted back-and-forth a few more times that day before we realized we actually knew each other! I was a couple of batches ahead, but we both went to UP College of Eng'g., and we were even affiliated with the same laboratory (CEL).:)

Since it was a holiday, Pete tagged along to help me out with the shoot. We met up with Dennis and Marion at their church (where they met, where Dennis is a pastor, and where they were going to get married). They treated us to a delicious lunch and nice chitchat before getting on with the pictorial.

As I was going through the raw shots again, I realized I liked a lot of the photos and couldn't decide what to post. I was finally able to cut it down to twelve. And here they are...

They are an easy-going couple and they wanted their session and their photos to be fun so they brought along these funny hats. I love this series.:)

Something a bit more romantic.

It was drizzling that morning, but as soon as we started the shoot, there was bright sunshine all around.:)

I like to capture happy photos and it wasn't very difficult doing that with these two.

This might be my favorite from the session.

I wanted to use the logo of their church in the background.

This was one of the last frames from the shoot. Dennis and Marion chose this shot for their canvas frame.

Please watch out for photos from Dennis and Marion's wedding which I will be posting soon!:)
