Marco Emmanuel: Baptism

October 24, 2009
St. James the Great Parish
Alabang Country Club

Sometimes we get too caught up in the small details that we forget the main essence of a baptism.  Manu's baptism, however was all about welcoming him into the Christian Community.  It was a simple yet beautiful celebration with close friends and family. The ceremony was very solemn, but the party afterwards was also filled with fun.

The priest who conducted the ceremony was a long-time friend of the family. This was evident in his short talk before and during the ceremony.  It made the baptism very personal.

Only immediate family members and the god parents were at the ceremony.

This is Mommy Ysa.  She's so pretty, isn't she?:)

We were able to take a few family shots before leaving the church for the reception venue.

I love the flare in these next two photos.  I would have wanted to take more photos but Manu was already getting fussy.

Simple but elegeant details!

This baptismal gown is decades old. It was worn by all siblings on Manu's dad's side, and now it's being passed on to their kids as well. It's still looks immaculate. And the lace details are timeless.

The cake ensemble.

These cutes bottles of fresh milk were given as favors to the adult guests.

Everyone wanted to get a glimpse of Manu.

Another cute shot of the celebrator.

When most of the guests had left, we tried taking a few more shots of the family.
